About kinder program Kinder at Hewish Road is a fantastic time of learning, growing, having fun, and developing lifelong skills. The Funded program is run by a Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teacher 5 days a week. Hewish Road uses the KG Learning approach, with our cycle of programming guided by an inquiry-based model. This approach to learning ensures that the children who attend Kinder are supported to lead their learning, goals, and interests, whilst being supported by planned environments, activities, and incursions/excursions that extend our learning. Aligned with the KG Learning Approach, our focus changes from term to term, depending on the unique needs, interests, and inquiries of each class of Kinders. However, within these areas, there is a structured approach to working towards the developmental areas and milestones that are required for 3- to 5-year-old children. Through collaboration with local schools, pediatric specialists, and our communities, we have developed a school readiness program that is embedded into the Kinder program throughout the year. Within this, we are working towards supporting children to build a strong foundation of independence, social, emotional & resilience, and physical, self-help, and communication skills.
